  12. Just an update for everyone: The drive is now working.
  13.  
  14. The drive is an IBM 170+M drive. (I think it is actually 172M, though it 
  15. formats to about 167M.)

  17. I purchased it new for about $80 (which is a rather nice price for a 2.5" 
  18. drive. ;) but it DOES have the slow spin-startup problem.

  20. Before I had, as someone suggested, cut the red pin line. And it didn't work.

  22. Then someone mentioned that the red pine line should be the closest to 
  23. the front of the Amiga, which was not correct.

  25. Turns out that the cable on my IDE connector was upside-down, and I had 
  26. actually cut the other wire. So just turning the cable around, and poof! 
  27. It works fine. ;)

  29. Although, I wish I had a smaller IDE cable now. :p (It is a 6 inch cable 
  30. which came with my 2.5" drive. :p The one I ordered from Software Hut had 
  31. a pin-hole filled, yet my 1200 motherboard has ALL of the pins, so I 
  32. wanted to avoid breaking any pins off the motherboard. :P

  36. I am now rather happy and expect to be leeching files from Aminet and 
  37. other sites for the next 3 days straight. :p
